Jealousy makes me hungry. Why? I see other people go to lovely restaurants, which, in turn, makes me want to go. This was the case with Tandoor Chop House and me missing our monthly Curry Club.
This was all the way back in January, so it has been a while, but I finally managed to drag myself to the restaurant and sample its delights with a friend.
I had heard good things from my friends about the restaurant and the fact that they either wanted to go back or had gone back, was a good sign for me.
Tandoor Chop House - "Tandoor Chop House is the meeting of a North Indian communal eatery and a classic British chop house. It brings together the characteristics of these two traditional restaurants. the tandoor ovens, Indian spices and marinades, select prime cuts of meat, and buzzing atmosphere. The result is a place diners can come to socialise over drinks and share plates of hearty, comforting food."
Nice words from Chop House. A few words I like to see: Share, Hearty, Comforting.
This was a quick lunch, so we didn't order too much between us:
We shared all the above and it left us feeling happy and satisfied. I wasn't stuffed and did not go into a food coma; which I think is a positive.
If I did return (WHEN), I would probably not order the onion rings or the fries, just as I feel that I would want something more aromatic and traditional. These fusion type dishes were tasty but I would try a special or a larger sharing dish instead. Maybe these could be the sides they are meant to be rather, than a sharing dish we had.
All of the above with drinks came to just under £45.
GOOD TIMES: Lovely restaurant, with good vides and good food
WATCH OUT: Nothing to worry about, except if you go without me. Invite me, I am free
