Q Grill has a simple aim, serve BBQ food and feed the masses. Hence the Q.
Using their charcoal pit and their own rub mix, Q Grill gives you everything from brisket, chicken wings and ribs to prawns, burgers and sides. Plenty of food and a lot of options.
On a hot Sunday afternoon, we were presented with a seat near the front and right next to the singer. This was a bit of a distraction; he was okay, but quite loud and the songs were very repetitive. I guess they were trying the hard rock vibe, but it was just too much and we could not even hear one other on a table for four.
Okay food, poor service.
The menu is 100% appealing, grilled and smoked meats, starters that shout out to you, fried food always entices you and even the sides that speak to our inner foodies.
Meat lovers this place could be the one for you. However it is unfortunately let down by staff who just don't seem to care. It took us more than ten minutes to get someones attention and even after that we had to remind them and other staff members that we wished to order. Good service can make up for average food, but poor service does not cover up anything, no matter how good the food is.
My brother and I went for one of their sharing platters 'Family Style' called CASUAL. This came with Half rack pig ribs, smoked pork sausage, buttermilk chicken, flat iron steak, sticky hen wings and crispy pickles. This was for up to four people, so more than enough for us two. All the food on the platter was tasty, but it was too much for just two mere men. The rub on the meats all tasted the same and at the end became a bit too much. This platter is good for three people, too much for two and probably not enough for four (You understand?).
Looking back at my pics and my experience, nothing makes me want to rush back. BBQ style is one of my faves to have, but there are better places for it, such as The Big Easy or Bodeans. Q Grill food is good, but work needs to be done on the service for sure.
Let me know when it improves and I may go back.
