Bank holiday weekend and on a Sunday evening, most places are not open. Luckily for me and Laura, Mussel Row was and we had a feast. Off for a birthday meal we went and what a special celebration it was. Fresh seafood on the coast was the order of the day and the restaurant delivered.
The starters were decent enough. The prawn tempuras had a different feel about it then usual and this was welcomed. The thick, curled up prawns were lightly battered with a good soy and cream dressing. I went for duck spring roll as the seafood vibe made sense with the ducks. The rolls were packed with duck and and not too crispy which made it feel quite delicate and fancy too.
I went for mussels and they were exactly what I wanted. Rich, filling and in abundance, I was really proud I finished off all. The mussels had me defeated near the end and it became a bit of a struggle due to their number and size. The team at Mussel Row were very generous and I didn't have any more space for desert but i forced the chocolate brownie in.
A great restaurant to go to and i will definitley be back.
It is always good to visit somewhere new and away from London.
Be Bold and adventure.
