Same thing happened on my last two eat outs which were incidentally last night and today at lunch. My money exercising technique is fool proof ( as in only fools who don't want to save will do it). The worse thing about always eating out is that I love to cook too. Maybe I should change my reviews to just pictures of my own cooking? No?
Okay I won't.
Above I went to Franco's Italian which is a local family run restaurant in Friern Barnet, North London. This is a lovely place to eat and Laura and I shared lamb cutlets and salmon pasta. These two dishes were both very nice and filling. The salmon pasta was rich and creamy whilst the juicy lamb was straight on point. Meat cooked well. The only downside tonight was the service as although it was very friendly it just took a while. Besides that you should go down there for some good local food.
Below was my visit to Koya bar in Soho. It had been previewed in Hot Dinners, a website shown to me by a friend about all the latest and greatest. So I had to try it. This Japanese restaurant is famous for its udon noodles in hot broth. When in Rome is the saying so I went for the duck version. It was okay but nothing special; it did its job of filling me up but became a bit boring as once the duck went it was just a bowl of broth and noodles and not much Else. Simplicity does work a lot but this time not to my liking. The picture below is of a dish that I did like, braised pork in cider. Really tender, juicy and subtle are the three words my friend described it as. I was very happy with this choice as otherwise I wouldn't be a fan. I guess a second visit is needed but no broth for me.
